Toward Lean Hardware/Software System Development: Evaluation of Selected Complex Electronic System Development Methodologies

Abstract

As part of the Lean Aircraft Initiative, a research program studying the applicability of lean production principles to the defense aircraft industry sponsored by the Air Force and over 20 aerospace companies, this report evaluates a set of five complex electronic system development methodologies for applicability as a lean electronic hardware/software system development methodology and analyzes the implications of the evaluation results.
